THE POWER OF SEAWEED
About ten million years ago, the Japanese Archipelago was formed and countless types of seaweed flourished in its waters.
AlgaeBase, an online database, has documented 50,589 species of living algae in our oceans.
100 Million years ago the group of brown seaweed (Phaeophyceae) that is Wakame/Mekabu developed. It contains “fucoxanthin” and “chlorophyll” -- valuable polysaccharides like alginic acids and fucoidan.

All of MASAMI's products are infused with Mekabu powder, where we source it fresh from a family owned seaweed company in Iwate, northeastern Japan. All of their products are food grade. The harvest, dry and powder down the Mekabu to our specifications, so we can infuse it into our salon quality formulas.
